Does anyone have any photos of an original PMC ute body?
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
I assume you mean a steel dropside body. The "ute" was what Land rover called the "truck cab". PMC were supplying a steel dropside body with a plywood floor on Series III 109" cab and chassis. Also on 88" but only on special order as cab and chassis was not a normal style in 88". After much prodding from the state branches of Leyland Truck and Bus, PMC came up with an aluminium dropside body which was a good bit cheaper than that supplied by outside body builders, notably the popular "TripleM". In Brisbane, I gave TripleM the option of bettering PMC's price. They didn't.
At the time LR sales were probably 60% dropside body or cab and chassis, and the biggest markets were primary producers and government. The recreational market was just emerging.

I rang Triple M and nothing has changed they won't do a tray for series 3. I have an original PMC timber tray and I would like to get it looking original.
Do you haev a chassis number of a S3 you are doing, or making one up.
LRA actually kept track of metal vs wood trrays if I recall. I could look it up in the notes I have.

Can anyone tell me if the original PMC timber trays where all painted body colour and what type of timber they used?
Does anyone know how the rear number plate was fitted to these trays?
