Why worry about the water? takes up the room for storing more beer, wine and good rum.
Get someone else in the convoy to carry water.

I dont know about a D3, but I have a poly tank strapped to the cargo barrier. Its from Dolium - Welcome. Looks like this -

Excellent quality, no after taste to the water and very sturdy!

After you go through somewhere like Nolan Brook,on the Old Tel Track ,you just open the doors,so it doesnt get stored in all the wrong places
