    Caravan Power

I need to run a heavy cable from Reserve battery, in engine bay, to an anderson plub on the rear bumper. Any clues please on feeding cable up the chassis from front to rear

At the very least you need a fuse at the battery and 6mm battery and starter cable to run to the back of the car as well as the anderson plug, if you are connecting to battery's in the van to keep them charged while you drive along, then it would be helpful to have some intellegence controlling the power generated by the alternator to top up the starting battery first, before sending power down to the van.

If you are going to power a fridge in the back of the car then you need to consider installing permanent power to the back of the car as well as to the anderson plug, this power coming from auxillary battery's you would have to install in the car.

The best setup I have heard of is available from this site, Dave's Interesting Things which also supports the running of the forum. There are several kits available, full fitting instructions are in the link above from peterall. The kits have all the bits you need to do the job.

I have the Traxide SC80-LR kit.

If you look underneath, LR have a wiring loom attached to the driver's side chassis rail. I attached my cable to this using cable ties, just making sure to keep things out of trouble.

    Works beautifully,
    Peter
