M R Automotive in brisbane may have brought the rights to the PTO drive when MAXI drive closed, however i think it is mainly used for a hydraulic pump
Good day to all!! Hope I find you well.
I've done some looking around, I am interested in the PTO on specifically LT230 transfer box, on a 1997 Defender 110 Tdi. The only people that still seem to be using this are you guys down under.
I'm interested in getting a mechanical PTO driven winch. Nobody can help, mainly electric and some hydraulic units that are used over here. I am aware of the older Series vehicles got the PTO, and the fact that electric and hydraulic might be better options???
I just find the idea of a PTO way too cool not to have
My questions
Maxidrive seem to have made PTO units. Are they still going?
If yes, how to contact them to find out if they can ship it to South Aftrica?
What type of winch can be used (can be bought new)?
Since there are no official supply and service for these, should I rather stick with either electric or hydraulic?
Probably a dying application, but so is the Defender as we know it. (Announcement by the CEO of Land Rover this morning)
Opinions welcome
