    CHECK THE BOLT ON THE REAR TAILGATE ACTUATOR NOW!

    I'm not sure this warning has been posted on tthis forum but it sure seems to be an issue in America, I'm guessing here too.

    The bolt is working itself loose on the rear, driver's side in Aust, of the hydralic actuator that holds up the back window portion of the rear luggage area. IF THIS BOLTS CMES COMPLETELYLOOSE YOU"LL NEED TO TEAR APART THE CAR TO FIX IT!!!

    Anyway it's wortth a 1 minute inspection, you'll see if it's loose. See the thread on the LRR Forum
    [ame=http://www.lrrforums.com/showthread.php't=6088]LR3 (2005) tailgate door suspension arm - Land Rover Repair Forums - LRRForums.com[/ame] .

    Apologies if you all know this already.

    Cheers

    . Having said that , I still took a look .
    It's a devil of a pest if it comes adrift

    I think you willl find it a hylaulic damped strut ( not in fact an actuator) however it is a known issue
    DISCO3.CO.UK - View topic - Go and check your tailgate struts now!
    and as Neil said it is a PITA if it comes off (panel work, but there is a work around poss)

    It was a service action out here so it should have been done to all D3s which see a dealership.

    I would be more worried about the rear door release cable failing.

    So what do they do as part of the "enhancement program", tighten the fitting as I do, or something more?
