    Newspapers aren't sensationalist!

This is the description of my grandfather's newspaper and a cover from it.

    Becketts Budget
Published on Friday’s in Sydney during the roaring 20s and 30s, Beckett’s Budget was a controversial weekly newspaper-style magazine which emphasised men’s interests and issues, from politics and sport to motoring and … ladies.
Its front covers often featured young women that were scantilly-clad by 1920s and 30s standards, but certainly not by today’s standards.
This is also true of its penchant for sensational stories of adultery and hedonism – stories truly scandalous for their time but laughable in hindsight.
WARNING: These huge cultural changes also effects other aspects of the magazine’s content, with some of the sexist and racist opinions expressed in it potentially offensive.

    Hi there

Leeds me to a great saying concerning the media:

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Ms Arriston said she knew of an available female emu about 800km away but did not have a trailer to bring it to her property and hoped someone may be able to help with transportation.

"I just thought maybe if there is somebody out there who could be coming up that's got a bit of spare room and wants to put an emu in the back," she told the ABC.
There are so many questions that arise from this article! So she wants someone to carry a female emu 800km for a night'day? of passion. What will happen to the fruit of this union? Baby bonus? Has anyone considered what the female emu wants? Surely there are feminist implications to this.

I think she should setup emushag.com.au which has a bit of a story about it and then a webcam. Charge people 1$ to join up and then let them watch (and listen - have to have sound) the union of these two birds.

There you go. A pretty messed up proposal but given the internets I reckon there would be 800 people that would pay to see that. I reckon this could fly.

Today's headline: Teen sex attack at wave pool

I'm sure there's something more important happening in the country, if not the world, at present
