    when is the last time you checked the oil level in your hydraulic jack ??

    I just checked it and it is full to just below the filler plug on the side, I take it that this is correct level as it will fully extend with 20mm of oil left in the bottom.

    It is always stored upright and has always been clean and dry, so I guess that if no oil has leaked out, there's little need.

    My D2's jack doesn't work like it used to, pressure is down. Can they be repaired? Thanks for posting this thread Richard.

    if carrying a hydraulic jack in the back of your Land Rover put a washer over the rubber filler bung and use insulation tape to keep it in place! Found out that even whilst storing the a hydraulic jack in the vertical plane that the corrugations can slowly force the filler bung out and then a slow loss of oil as it slops around in the jack.
