    Heartburn any easy cures

    Hi

couple of months ago i got really bad heartburn lasted for about 2 weeks only had it happen once or twice since then.......

Tonight I have it really bad I have taken gaviscon which seems to have settle the I'm going to throw up any minute type feeling but the pain when I breath in higher up in my chest is really painful.

Does anyone know of anything else I can do that will help?

Figured there might be some old wives cures or something out there I could try

You have asked for "some old wives cures" for heartburn so one is to take a spoonful of vinegar when you start to feel heartburn. Also, eating shredded raw potato can help. Another common remedy is to slowly chew 6 raw almonds.

Then again I would read THIS

    Get well soon

I've always had bad heartburn caused by my hernia, I found that 'Eno' sparkling helps mine, but its effectivness varies person to person

Heartburn. Maybe it is and maybe not. Could also be mistaken for a cardiac problem or kidney stones. I suggest you go see a doc and get it sorted out.

Lou, on that basis alone I'd be wanting to at least mention it to your doctor. Might be nothing sinister but its worth at least being checked out.

Hell, I had some vague cardiac symptoms once upon a time that I thought was normal, and ended up having heart surgery 3 times as a result!

No harm in at least mentioning it and getting a proper medical opinion.

As for home remedies, I've always heard of the teaspoon of bi-carb trick, never really tried it mind you!

Hi Lou it sounds like you may have Gallstones, you are a bit young to be getting them as it usually affects people in there 40's. With 80 % of patients being female.

Lou as with all re-occurring chest pains you should see your doctor to be on the safe side.
