Cockroaches in the fuse box?
They go off a beauty in the microwave.

I had a call form my mum today. She says she heard a loud explosion/bang in her car port. She reckons over the last 2 years she has had these "Explosions" 3 times now. She thinks it's a power surge.
Today's was the loudest and really shocked her.
The house main fuse box is near the car port. She has ELB ( earth leakage breaker fitted) and also I think a surge protector.
She told me the digital times devices in her house started flashing, like a power outage. Every thing is working and no circuit breakers have tripped.
There is no burning smell .
But she is worried about these loud Bang/explosion sounds when this thing happens.
Could it be a power surge???????

How's Mums hearing, sense of mind?
Without something damaged/tripped its a needle in a haystack![]()
Lived in inner city Sydney for a few years.
Eventually you get bored of all the restaurants and look for exotic culinary delights.

Or you get poor and desperate, cockroaches and rats are pretty much the only free range game in the city.
Need a lot for a feed, but.
Hey hows it going. It is not a power surge. As a sparky there are a few questions i would be asking. Was it raining at the time? for instance.ELB's are generally only fitted to the power point circuits if it was done a number of years ago.Nowadays its on the light circuits as well but is still generally not on the stove,A/C or hot water circuits.ELBs will usually only trip if it is a fault to earth but not necesarily if it is an active/neutral fault(red to black).it could also be a fault with the mains cables to the council supply as there is generally no fuse on them at all.A mains check is where i would start as it would make a lot of noise but not trip the power. Also the connection point is up fairly high so the smell may not filter down to ground level.A surge protector is only good for lightning strikes or huge spikes but will not stop surges. My advice would be to get a sparky to check it out before there is a real problem.

Mum Rang her power supply company..... they confirmed that in her area at the time there was a power incident... a crow on the line caused a short or something..
