    Corroding Defender...

Hi there, I'm a new member so please be gentle with me. Am in the market for a Land Rover, these 3 appeal, for different resons: Rangie Classic on dual fuel (are they a bit of a worry for servicing etc, do you use the LPG guy or the Landie guy?), 2002 on Td5 Defender SW and 130 tray or ute.
Have enquired about a non local Defender SW but am told it has rust on the rear and corrosion spots evident in the body sills below doors etc. Is low k's but has obviously lived by the coast and maybe done beach work. At around 65-70% of usual market value, is that worth touching or best avoided altogether? Cheers.

If there is rust in the rear of chassis, there most likely is rust in the Bulkhead and door frames.

Changing the Bulkhead is quite a big job, in the process of it now, on my Td5.

Luckily my chassis had been galvanised

I would steer clear of any defender that has rust in the chassis. Unless you have a lot of time and the skills required to fix it.
