    Freelander`rear window

There was a thread a little while back that I cannot find about the rear window not dropping much when the tailgate is opened but has no trouble going back up. I am now also having this problem though the door will still open OK as the window drops just enough.

Can someone tell me what the outcome of the previous related thread or how to fix the issue.

Does the window just need to be reset like if there has been battery failure or do I need to start pulling things to bits.

    Thanks

    Hi Garry,

I think you're about to start pulling it apart...

Every time you fully raise the window, it'll reset itself. If it thinks it out of calibration, it'll just drop the window straight down.

I suspect your problem is more than likely going to be with the mechanism. I've not pulled the rear door apart on a Freebee yet but if it's the same as the doors (i.e. on a cable) then I suspect that the cable has probably stretched and is about to give out on you.

I believe the window set points are within the computer. Hope it is not the regulator as they are hard to come by. Search OS if necessary.

Thanks for the information - I was hoping for a simple answer as I am feeling a bit lazy - looks like the Rave manual is coming as is the Haynes Manual - I guess it will be a good opportunity to stop the ususal rear door water leaks.

    Cheers

    Hi.

Had this problem from day one and till I smashed the whole door a week ago

My research ended with that calibration does not help (tried many times). I've been told that motor has to be changed, as it contains position sensor inside it, which feeds movement counts to ECU.

Gonna buy the whole user door soon, maybe it'll be free of the issue.
