    Sliders

    Ive been working on my sliders today,about time it stopped raining.Ive pretty much finished one,just need to pop rivet it to the sill.

    Looks good mate, like the checker plate. Rivet or bolt to sill?????

    Actually both ive bolted through the sill and have rivets coming up from the bottom.Then ive made brackets on either end one bolts on to the body mount the other onto the bracket where the rear mudflap was.

    Your sliders looks great!
    I was wondering though, if you have them fixed to the chassis outriggers and the body if there is any flex/movement between the chassis and the body will that not pop your rivets.
    Just don't want to see any rivets pulling through your bodywork.

    I havent riveted them yet,so you reckon dont worry about putting in the rivets,would the brackets and the bolts through the sill be strong enough without the rivets?

    mine are just are just bolted through the sill like many other people sliders
    Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

    I work with computers so not really into stresses and the like but I THINK most people have the bolted to either the chassis or the sill.
    I do know that the body is raised above the chassis using rubber mounts so I assume they will flex?
