Double shooting here tonight

A double shooting has occurred here tonight. About 6:50pm a 000 call went to Police indicating a man had a gun at a Kennedy St address. Shortly afterwards a further 000 came in from a hysterical woman claiming that her sister had just been shot by her partner. Police & Ambulance responded and found a male dead and a female with severe injuries.

A good friend of mine was next door at the time, and another mate was one of the first responding Police Officers. All pretty blurry right now as to what happened

A man and a woman have died in an apparent domestic-related shooting incident in northern NSW.

Police found the body of a man with a gunshot wound inside a home in Kennedy Street, Armidale, after receiving reports at about 7pm (AEST) on Wednesday that shots had been fired.

Officers found a critically injured woman inside the house and gave her first aid until paramedics arrived.

The woman, who also had a gunshot wound, was taken to Armidale Hospital where she died a short time later.

Police said the man's death was not being treated as suspicious at this stage.

A crime scene has been established and the house will be examined by Forensic Services Group officers.

"The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated by detectives from the New England Local Area Command," a NSW police statement said.

A report would be prepared for the coroner, police said.

Armidale, A safe university town. This is sad for the given population I have attended a few seminars up there over the years and my sister went to school there.
