    Grumble - 24v Light Bulbs

I have wasted 6 hours today driving all over Canberra trying to buy a couple of instrument light bulbs for my 101. They are 24v, about 3w but have a screw thread rather than the bayonet fitting.

I tried everywhere (Repco, auto electricians, Ashdowns, truck parts suppliers, tractor parts suppliers) and confirmed that Narva, Hella and Philips do not make them - Narva do 12v but not 24v. I ended up buying a different fitting that will take the bayonet bulbs that I can make fit.

So 24v 101 owners - where are you buying your threaded 24v dash and instrument light bulbs??

    Cheers

    How frustrating!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

JohnR is in the instrument game, and has told me about a guy up here who is THE man for old bulbs and Lucas stuff. Heaps of odd and obsolete stuff.

Bad news is his name escapes me at this moment, and John won't be back from the cape for a few weeks yet, but if I talk to him between then and now I'll ask him.

Would it be worth wiring them in pairs in series, then you could use 12v ones?

This is the little sucker - 24v 2.8w

Just need a supplier in case I blow some more - there is about 10 in the dash of a 101. I have changed the fitting on the blown one to take bayonet globes but would prefer not to change the rest.

    Cheers

    Ok, this site: www.autoglobe.com.au/Catalogue/Autoglobe_Automotive.pdf

lists their ES304 24v 3 watt E10 globe as equivalent to Narva Premium 2688 and Philips 13875

    The Narva no. looks wrong.

    However:
