    Brake pad prices

    Hi all,

How much should I be paying for replacement pads? I seem to remember that the prices vary a lot.

    I'm in Brisbane.

    Cheers, Steve

I've just been quoted $1360 to replace the pads on my 2006 D3...by Brisbane Austral dealer.

So I'll be looking elsewhere. Thanks for the info.

I took mine to Austral last week as I couldn't find somewhere I was happy with. I'm on the road so I don't have the exact bill, but it was around $700 including everything. Half parts half labour. This makes the pads around $160 a pair.

This was both sets of pads for a 06 V8.

I was initially quoted a high price and at the time I paid I was told that it was a figure pulled out of the air. After he'd done that to me and noticed the difference you think that he would have remembered the actual price.

    Cheers, Steve

I checked with Austral Brisbane again re the brake pad costs and have been quoted $375 for the pads only.

The $1360 they initially told me included the 84,000K service - which makes the service a little expensive but the pads reasonable. So I'll retract my negative comments re Austral.

Bought some last year, July, from ex dealer in Adelaide. They were Ferodo which they told me were the original LR ones for a total of $235 for front and rear

I've had the pads replaced, front and rear, by MR Automotive at Redcliffe (northside Brisbane) for $330. Very happy with the price and service; drop off at 8am and pick up at 10.

I don't know what the Brisbane dealership was smoking but they finally settled on a quote of $830 for all 4 pads.

MR will be getting my business in future.
