    Bugger (Again!)

My poor red beast has for the second time offered to help another vehicle stop by offering its mass to a Landcruiser on the Logan Motorway who couldn't pull up intime.

This time the damage is worse with a hole punched through the tailgate, tail lights broken and the muffler ripped off and buckled all the way up to the engine. The rear quarter panels are also buckled but I'm pretty sure the rest of the structure is still straight.

Oh yeah the rear bumper is completly buggered.

I was hit while slowing down for roadworks around the toll booths on the motorway. I'm not sure what speed the LC was doing but it was fast because it was a hell of a bang and I'm suffering from some bad neck pain.

Inside the cabin, my subwoofer shifted far enough to break the speaker cable and the amplifier mounted under the passengers seat also broke free. My iPhone which was siiting in the Land Rover cradle on the dash, hit the windscreen and went to that place in the sky that dead iPhones go to.

The LC pushed me into an Astra which put a few marks in the bumpers of both cars. I think the intercooler might have been moved back a few degrees but I think that it was its mounting point that moved because it doesn't like it has touched anything.

So far Allianz have been great with getting the car towed to a repairer and assessed although I'm yet to find out how long it will take to get back.

    Bugger. Is it looking repairable?

Pity you didn't have the monster bar.

Probably repairable but I'd prefer a write-off. I'm worried about the turbo failing due to the massive shock it got. The exhaust is pushed back 100mm so I'm guess a fair amount of that force would have been transferred to the engine and turbo.

    Not nice.

Does highlight though the morons on the motorways who don't leave enough gap to the car in front or keep watch on what is happening up front. I find having to slow down or stop on the motorways frightening at times as I watch vehicles looming up bloody quick in the rear veiw mirror....scarey stuff. Had a couple of close calls.

That is one decent bull bar on the Land Cruiser! Sucks to have your car hit and there's not much you can do to avoid people slamming into the back of you.

Ouch bud... I hit into a car 2 months ago.. bit of bumper damage drivers side wheel was marked. $7K later it was fixed. Your damage looks 10x worst, i would say atleast $15k if not more.... LR are expensive to repair.

Let us know the damage bill!

I know what the feeling is like!
