    Tyre availability

What is going on? I am about to get a new set of tyres for my 33tdi defender.
I ring around four of the tyre outlets in my district to be told that 235.85.R16 is an odd sized tyre and that they would have to order them in specially. Is this true or what? Jim

A lot of smaller or even larger tyre retailers do not stock all tyres so may have to order them. But a 235/85?R16 is a standard size and should be easy to get.

Or go for a set of 7.50x16s if your shopping for five.

Don't worry i was told here that 7.50R16's weren't that common. That makes sense.....not. Rang rockhampton and they had them on the shelf. So ask somewhere else.
