Carrying an additional spare tyre
On our recent trip I put the spare on the roof rack since everything has to be removed from the back of the truck to wind the tyre down and I wanted to carry an additional tyre. I made a plywood disk reinforced with a couple of pieces of 20mm angle and held together with nyloc nuts and bolts. This allowed me to hold the tyre in place with the spare tyre winch. After 9000 Km it all held together well and in the end I didnt need to use it. The idea may be of use to someone else here.......

Thats how I carried an extra carcase around OZ under the rear of our van.
