    Two questions

OK all those driving a 110 TDI. When stationary, where does your speedo needle point to? Does it read "0" on the dial or sit somewhere above it? Also I have just had new tyres fitted (the recomended size) and the darn speedo still reads 5k/h high) Do I have a problem or is this normal? Is there a fix? Jim

    Gday Jim

My 110 speedo sits about o but does bounce a little on idle, interesting your speedo reads over, mine reads under by 9km/hr. Cant help with a fix though.

    Good luck.

The speedo in my Defe was calibrated last January by a instrument and VDO specialist.
It sit about 2 mm above the bottom line (0 reading) and does not bounce.
I have the standard tyres fitted on it.
    Cheers

Standard tyres fitted and it bounces a little when travelling but sits on zero at idle. As for accuracy mine reads about 5% above the true speed.

I've owned four Defenders and their speedos all over-read by 5-10%. My current Tdi 130 over-reads by about 10%. I've checked it with a GPS. 235/85x16 tyres.

Thanks for the answers all. My needle sits on around 5k/h on idle and if I tap the speedo it will drop back to "0". Maybe the mechanism is dirty or something. Perhaps I should just put up with it as it seems "normal" for a fender.

My old boy has a 130 thats pretty far out by gps, 100k on the gps is about 118 on the speedo, i also have a navara at the moment(my 110 is on a boat over here new 2010 mod) its also out by the gps. 108kl=100 on the gps. took it back into the shop told them about the how they read differently, they said because it less then 10% they can't fix it. spose that just another reason why i traded it.
