    Hi Cheeky,

Thanks for the day it was a lot of fun though I have to say it is a hell of a lot harder work in a series III with no power steering than it is in a D3. But despite that, if not for fuel supply problems we would have got everywhere. While waiting for the trip report some may like to look at some photos here 2009_08_16 album | TimJ | Fotki.com. I loaded up all the photos we took so there are some good some not so good but there are quite a few there .

    Great pics Tim.

Thanks to everyone who helped with directing the D3 through that gap. I thought I'd make it given the great turning circle of the D3 but in the end she was just too wide. All I collected was a small scratch on the bullbar from climbing up on that rock on the driver's side.

Guys, l should have footage of the day hopefully ready for a look tonight.
Bit busy, but will get it through asap.
It will have a good spread of cars and various terrain.
    Stay tuned.

P.S> Gotta admit Marks D3 was very impressive yesterday.
Good to see as a spectator how capable they really are!!
Oh yeah, l forgot the steer jockey had alot to do with its capability also!!
    Cheers Dave

Well we had a good day if a bit slow (or is that what you think when you're TEC?). The Jeep TL (Dave? I'm hopeless with names) was very concerned about me scratching the D3 which I appreciated but I managed to follow along. TimJ had major carby issues which meant a few pushes backward and forward at various times to level the car to start. It may be a shorty but it's still heavy when you're pushing it over a rock.

Things got interesting at lunch. While Jaffa was removing his drive shaft a fire started down on the flat and the SES(?) called over the radio for everyone to scamper out of the reserve (bit hard from where we were).

Some Jeeps (and what's this uncoupling/undoing/whateveritwas thing they do first up?).

Front wheel well and truly in the air.....this is where Jaffa came to grief.

    This approach didn't work..

    This one did...

    Jaffa early in the day.......

    A rock too far.......

    The outcome..........
