Where is location of ignition switch suposed to be?

    Hi,

    I am renovating my Land Rover Series 1, 1958, 88", 2.0 petrol.

I got it with a replacement ignition switch of a series 3 I believe. I am restoring a series 1 light/ignition switch. And I will also have to re-install the starter button/switch. Where does that go? Does anyone have a picture?

    Also,... I am looking for:

    1x Fuel Tank Sender Unit
    2x Wiper arm (I believe 22 cm)
2x Wiper blades and blade holders (I believe 26 cm)
1x Oil presure switch (screw into engine, for instrument light not gauge)

If you can help, please specify mail costs to Melbourne, Australia.

    Thanks,

    Kris

Ignition switch, combined with the light switch is between the speedo and the combination instrument and near the bottom of the instrument panel - unless it is a diesel in which case the ignition switch is separate and below the RH end of the panel, next to the engine stop.

The starter button (petrol) is on the vertical section of the firewallabout half way down between the instrument panel and the bulge for the bell housing, and about in front of the yellow knob. Should be a hole there for it. All of the other bits you are after should be available from any of the Landrover specialists - they are the same as the early Series 2/2a.
