    VNTs for diesels?

Turbo gurus is this thing any good for a 300 tdi? Just judging by the vehicles that it is meant for It might be a bit big. Would the variable vane compensate for that?

From what I know (little), M24 does not tell you much about the turbo.

Garrett turbos that I have had in my hands, have Mx cast on the turbine housing and Mxx cast on the compressor housing. Where x is some number that appears to differentiate a housing size (but I have never see anything to support/refute this assumption).

Things like inducer and exducer size for the turbine and compressor impellers and the A/R of the turbine housing can change considerably for the same housing Mx/Mxx designation.

The VNT turbo used on the International 2.8 litre engine that was based on the 300Tdi has a M4 turbine housing and a M27 compressor housing.

The 300Tdi compressor has a M27 compressor housing.
