Rubber mats in lieu of carpet

The two carpet pieces on the front floor wells of my County are stuffed. Does anyone know who sells replacements in sturdy rubber? County-Isuzu with LT85 if that information is necessary.

I have looked in vain on the internet. Not enough time to sort 100,000 results.

could be wrong, but why do you not give clarke rubber a ring, and see if they have them.

Buy a pair of factory Land Rover rubber floor mats for the front. I have ditched the carpet and use these only. Very neat and tidy. You cant even tell there is no carpet. No difference in noise. A bit expensive thought but I reckon they are worth it!

I'm planning to make my own for my Defender out of something Clark Rubber (or the like) can supply. Some foam backed rubber would be great to cut down some more noise, and has to be a damn sight cheaper than OE or aftermarket mats.

You can use a high density rubber in the under layer and then the normal rubber or marine carpet at the top.
Both of them are available at Clark's

I can make my own, no problem. I just thought there might be tailored ones available.

Drivers side mat in my Defender was falling apart. What I bought should last a lot longer. Had a look at what Clark rubber had. Got a heavy rubber mat apparently for horses which has round dimples on it. About 6x4 feet for about $75. Used my old floormats as patterns and cut some slightly oversize ones from it - now less dirt gets under them. Trimmed up the leftover bit - now about 4 feet square.

On the underside there are shallow wide grooves. The two floormats I cut had these running from the transmission tunnel outward.
To make these thick mats tidier, bevelled the outside edges by the doors. Also removed the remainder of dimples that were cut through.

For a work vehicle, I doubt if you could find anything better to make a floor mat out of.

i got recycled solid 12mm matting from clarke rubber and made new front mats.

going to get some more and do the front floor mat on the hiace as i am very impressed with what it did for the 110.

killed about 50 decibels of 4bd1 rattle as well as keeping the temp down as a bonus.

well worth the 70 or 80 bucks i parted with.
