    Van/Trailer rego in Queensland

I have just picked up a second hand Jayco camper trailer. It is currently registered in Victoria.

What is the deal with registering it? The tare is 640kg and the ATM is not listed(1986 model), so does this mean I can just register it as a trailer under 750kg atm? The vic rego papers only show the tare.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, the last thing i want to do is deal with Queensland Transport for any longer than I have to.

You will need a gas certificate I think, check with QT.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

If it has a gas installation you will need a certificate from a gas examiner credentialled by the Dept. Otherwise should be straightforward. QT will recognise the manufacturer which is half the battle. Just hope the chassis number is not the same as one already on register. This will seriously ruin your day or week. Happened to a mate. His unreg. professionally made 30 y.o. 6 x 4 box trailer had the same number as a pop top camper made by someone else. He got messed about for three weeks whilst the dept. pondered the problem and eventually issued him a number to be stamped on and declared the trailer "home made".
