Get the oils in the diffs & transfer case checked & drain/refill. If there's no signs of metal, I wouldn't be too concerned.
While diff whine is not unheard of, it could also be the normal transfer case noise that some have.
Recently acquired a 2003 TD5 Auto Disco 2 with around 65000K. Altogether very happy, my first LR though driven lots in the forces. Drives really well, no real complaints, but just a little niggly problem.
It has what appears to be a mild diff whine at around 100-110 km/h. No noticeable vibration, just the noise. Is this a common problem in this model?
Just about to go in for service. Anything I should get them to check?
