    Converting a 2a into a Zebra

Here's how I converted my 2a SWB into a zebra!

My paint was oxidized and my hardtop was quite scratched. A new paintjob would've cost me thousands, so I went down the 'vehicle wrap' option. It's cost effective, quick and looks quite good!

It's a 3m product. It doesn't harm the paint when you remove it and it's supposed to last up to 9 years in the sun.

It's a lot like contacting a school book - only on a much larger scale!

    Step 1
    Wash and dry Land Rover

    Step 2

'Prepwash' Land Rover to remove any excess wax or residual dirt. You can buy this stuff easily at auto-shops.

    Step 3
Remove window seals - mine were perished and cracked. A screwdriver got them out without damaging the car body

    Step 4
You only need these tools for the job
Coloured car contact - available from signwriters.
    3m application tool
    knife

    Step 5
Slowly apply each layer. I applied white, then added stripes over the top. It goes on easily, but each rivet has to have the film stretched, heated and carefully applied.
It took 13.5 hours to get the car to this stage, with two people working on it.

    Step 6
    Add the stripes!
This was the fun bit. I cut stripes randomly and applied them over the car, cutting away the windows and galvanised stripes later.

    Finished product!
    Total cost: $450

See you all at the Sydney Expo at the end of the month!

I can't say I like it but that is so ultra cool I almost wanna try it!

Not a bad price for the finish quality too. Well done.
    Cheers,

    Looks good.

Just hope no little buggers come and start peeling it all off.

    -EDIT-

Now I'm having visions of someone doing up a Tiger, and chasing your Zebra around town.

Very Cool - I love Zebras - It soooo Daktari - Only minor criticism; I reckon you could add a little more black.
