Digital map ?

G'day.
I am finally setting up my EEE PC laptop as a GPS, using Ozi explorer
software.
I have many of the digital mapping discs for around Oz but there is not one for the Mackay region.
I need one of the local area to practice and learn to use this GPS thingy.

Can I scan a paper map and then use it with Ozi explorer ?
If so what format do I save it, so that the software can read it ?

Yes you can. Very easy to do.

Full instructions are on the OziExplorer site. No point in duplicating them here.

Download a FREE 1:250K map for the area you want from Geoscience Australia

you will need the ER mapper ECW file and then have to import it into Ozi.

Getting your first map is a bit painful, but pretty simple from then on.
