    Tyre choices-Wrangler Silent Armor

The Good Year Wrangler Silent Armor is now available in P265/60R18 109T at a reasonable price ($380)
I know the OEM Wranglers are not popular here, but this looks good.
Has anyone fitted these as I would be interested in feedback before I commit the dollars?

I've got the 235/85R16's on my Kimberley Kamper. They've done about 30,000km and are still in good condition. OK, that's on a trailer mind you but it has seen some rough stuff and rocky tracks.

My FIL has them on his grand cherokee. They come standard. He's blown three on gravel roads in the central goldfields. I've had my suby up on similar roads with the dueler 693's on and not had a problem.

Mind you, I think he may have had pressures too high and he's a bit of a lead foot. Furthermore, i don't think he's too good at picking his ground. So it might not be an accurate assessment of the tyres.

I found them quite a good all-rounder in LT225/75-16 on my D2 but the 18" size for the D3 is only P rated and has a max pressure of 44 psi which might be too low.

Gday ,I have them on my D2 they have done 10000ks, 2500 of this on the gibb river rd and a few other tracks in the kimberly,s without a hassle.Have held up better then the cooper s/t did after the same kms.My size 245/70/16...Alan whiting did a trial with some on a D3 in I think the july edition on 4x4 australia..He did 40000ks and had 2 punctures all dirt roads, you may be able to find that article.
They give a good road ride with not much noise and on corrigated gravel I had no probs, Did drop the pressures down and didn't do the speed of sound, but seen plenty of others changing tyres on the same roads.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers Ean

I have sourced some at $388 which seems reasonable so will report back in a few months after a Vic high country trip.
