    Defender Air Con (Puma)

    Hi,
read here some where that white is the best colour for Defenders, because the air con is not all that efficient, and similar comments along the same line.
Now air con is a fairly high priority for SWMBO, she really feels the heat, and air con is one thing she will need to get a break from it.
We are looking at travelling extensively on the 'big' island, mostly during the winter months, but for us, 'hot' starts at about 25°.
    So the question:
Given a sunny >35° day, should we be able to pull <20° in a white def cab chassis.
What experience of the new Defender's air con do we have on the forum?
    cheers

New air-con is great. We have used it going across the Nullarbor last Summer and it cooled the Puma down nicely. I couldn't say what the temp was inside but it was cold enough that we needed to turn it off!

The Zermat Silver is even better than the white as it is more reflective IMO. The A/C works wonderfully up here in the NT. The other thing that also helps is a full length roof rack.

Also we have just spent a few months on the road and been from below -10C to above 46C in our travels. Both the heater and A/C worked very well. Between Broome and Kununurra we experienced days of more than 40C constantly and the A/C was fantastic in fact when driving for an extended period of time we would have to turn the fan off and just use the blower on the A/C as it got to cold.

And it works even better in the smaller cabin of the vehicle you are considering

Probably relating to the Defender TD5 air con. It's really good if you get hot knees!!

    Puma A/C is 100% improvement
