as you can see by the bulletin its says "should a customer express concern" I would be telling them your going out to a remote area if they wont change it..how ever if its not leaking yet why would you change it, unless of course you are planning to go out bush soon.
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

I'd agree with what Lou said. If it isn't broken don't get it fixed. If you are going to be somewhere remote consider getting a spare pump. I discussed this with LR before my trip but I would have had to buy it outright as the other wasn't being replaced.

Pays to keep an eye on it when travelling. If it is starting to go you will see a slight black weep of oil on the horizontal bracket and oil fume residue over the back of the pump. At that point you probably have a few thousand kilometres to go but no one knows for sure. I drove about several hundred kilometres with mine in that state and with no change to the signs of a leak.

my mate from nsw done one about three weeks ago at daly river nt .Had to be tilt trayed to alice springs.3 day wait at alice for new pump,Alice wouldn't order one on the mates diagnosis because he wasn't a qualified machanic [probably fair enough from the sidelines but he is not impressed]I would think seriously of carrying one if going to far away from reliable help.there wasn't one in Darwin either

Like everything now days, no one keeps stock of parts, they are all ordered in "overnight". Trouble is that's only good in Sydney or Melbourne.

Would have thought Sutton's would accept his word on a vacuum pump issue
