    From 1968 to 2004 - I've upgraded!

    I've upgraded!

As of today, I'm the proud owner of a 2004 TD5 Defender. It's my first defender and wow - what a revelation compared to the '68 2a diesel.

    Here are some pics:

I pick it up at the end of the week and I can't wait!

BUT; here are the first of many questions:

    1. How on earth do I check the water level?? I couldn't find the overflow bottle anywhere under the bonnet. If someone could post a picture up of a Defender TD5 engine bay showing me where important things are, it would be appreciated.

    2. What's the big yellow bowl thing up on the driver's side of the engine bay mounted near the master cylinder and filled with sticky red fluid?

Very neat and tidy. I suspect you will notice a slight improvement in creature comforts too

As to Q1 you've just answered it with Q2. Should be about half full of red coolant. There is a "full" line on the bottle somewhere, will be in the owner's manual.

You can view the owner's manual here: http://www.landrover.com/int/en/owne...nd-manuals.htm

Congratulations, looks very nice! Is it as well as the 2a or instead of?

After I have been driving the Series 1 & hop in the Defender, it feels like I'm in a Range Rover!!

Ah the new TD5 is in addition to the Series 2a.

    They complement each other nicely!

It'll be a shame to get it dirty.

    One Zebra is enough, Shonky!

Don't give Mrs. Gromit any ideas...
