Unhappy Engine ticking after EGR removal

About 2 hours after installing my new chipped ecu from Triumph in SA, I decided to start installing the EGR removal kit that I also got with said ecu.

Well, I learned you cannot try to undo a tourqued up hex head with a ball ended allen key. Funnily enough, although not at the time, this was all I had, an with the engine in peices, I had no vehicle to run to bunnings - but I digress...

So after the new kit had been installed, the test run revealed a ticking sound that seemed to get louder as the turbo spooled up, and no ticking when no boost (idle, coast etc).
I had a good look around for some obvious mistakes and decided to sleep on it.
    Noise remains.

Am I missing something? Does anyone have any ideas? Is this normal?

    Thanks George,
I endend up finding the culprit yesterday, but forgot to post..

For anyone else interested, there was diesel soot all over the air conditioner compressor and the engine block around that area. Problem was the little exhaust manifold flange

Turns out the test drive I took was when the gasket glue I used probably wasnt properly cured, so the pressure blew a hole in the glue.

    All fixed now
