    Talking 255/100-16 Tyres

Just thinking out aloud, what would I need to do to my 130 to get 255/100-16 XZL tyres on (36.1 inches ).Would they fit on the standard rim??
    cheers Wayne

Not much at all. a decent spring lift and some minor trimming to the arches.

Mate has a county that has 38" tyres fitted easily with a 4" spring lift and some minor trimming.

EDIT: Yes you could put them on a standard rim.
    I rule!!!

Minimum of 6.5" rims, an engineers certificate and about $4,500.00 to buy just the tyres. After that you may need to get 4.11:1 diffs front and rear, so you can still climb hills and then re-calibrate your speedo, not including your lift..

You wont be able to get it engineered (i.e. legal) in Qld at all, but to actually do it wouldnt be that much work.

    Are they 900-16's in metric?

Considering that the general consensus seems to be that 9.00R16 is out of reach, what about 8.25R16? I remember seeing XZL's in 8.25 somewhere, and give or take that is 'only' 34 inches.. That would be the sweet spot IMO.

Anyone have any ideas / comments? Or has this thing just been done to death and no on can get any anyway because Michelin wants us all to buy BFGs instead?

Hmm sorry to dig up a dinosaur, are 825-16 tyres available/attainable?
I'm guessing they're a popular light truck size, but can we get more aggressive patterns? (Like the XZLs)

Would you need to do a lift on a stock 130 for 825-16 to fit?

Aside from 7.50-16 8.25-16 9.00-16, what other sizes with a ratio at 100 (or close to) are available?

    Hi Wayne

The problem when fitting any oversized tyre on standard rims, is the lost of a sizeable portion of the turning circle.
If your happy to travel in a straight line then go for it.
    Cheers Arthur
