Is there a simple way to shut off the "BONNET OPEN" message?

yes... it is closed

I think the micro-switch on the RH catch is dodgy and I haven't got around to replacing the cables yet... looks to be one of those seemingly simple jobs until you look at the cable run and decide to wait for a rainy day instead
