    WABCO kit?

Hi all, does anybody know if kits are available to rebuild the Wabco SLS solenoid valves on the D2?
All there really is to replace is 2 plunger seat seals and an O ring per valve. LR want to sell an entire valve block or Compressor at $ to make your giggle with insanity.

I am hoping WABCO have been sensible with these parts.
If no kits available does anyone know if parts from manufacturers like Goyen, Parker or SMC may fit?

    Cheers

The only part I think you can buy is the shuttle valve switches. It is the same WABCO unit as on some Hummers, not sure if they would sell anything?
I wonder if a larger brake warehouse could help - although I wouldn't replace anything without the replacement being absolutely identical.
    What's the issue with yours?

Hi Davros, its the SLS (Self Leveling Suspension) not the brakes.

I have a slow leak in the suspension past the solenoid valves. The bags have been replaced and hold when the valves are are out of the system.

The seal is just a piece of some type of rubber inserted into either end of the solenoid plunger. Its got a bit old and and needs to be replaced to seal properly again.

I have contacted WABCO with part numbers (which seem reasonably common accross some of the product range) waiting for a response.

If WABCO have done anything like other manufacturers it shouldnt be big ask

    Opps! Sorry mate.
Will be interested to see what they come up with!
Sure my SLS valves must be pretty dried out and was wondering the same a while back!

Well I heard back from WABCO and as expected there are no kits or parts available for the 3 solenoid valves associated with the compressor pack.

I am currently pursuing a Goyen valve kit which seems close, but I am waiting for some specs before I go any futher.

    Cheers

I have reached the end of my search for parts or easily substituted items and come up with nothing.

Replacement O-rings were easy enough but the plunger seals are a no go. They can be custom made at prohibitive $. There are 3 solenoid valves in the assembly. 2 are in one composite body (valve block) controlling L & R bags. These were ok with o-rings replaced. It is the main Solenoid valve incorporated into the dryer unit and used in conuction with the pressure relief valve that was giving the grief. The 2 valve block was available for $345 AUD + GST. Which IMO, at that price, isnt worth replacing.

So I bit the bullet and bought a new compressor assembly. $537 Aud. Ex UK, nearly $300 less than the closest Aust. supplier, landed at my door.

It is a real shame to be forced to replace the whole assembly because of 1 small rubber seal. At least the entire SLS is now new, so shouldnt need to think about it for another 10yrs or so.

I now have a pefectly good compressor to play with for onboard air.
Hope this info may help anyone else.

    Cheers
