    Monday Smoko

The things you see while walking at lunch time.

Bin fire at the big tram stop out the front of the Eye&Ear hospital, Victoria Pde, Melbourne.

It was a big truck for a little bin but as the station is literally just around the corner, it was only a little trip.

I think the first bloke only half filled it.

When he gave the hose to the second bloke to hold so he could pull the bin out of the enclosure to check it, the second bloke decided he might as well have a go too.

    Overkill!

Must have taken them longer to roll the hose up and stow it again.

Is the guy in the safety vest (worn under a vest ) there to stop a tram from slicing the hose?

Actually the slowest bit was watering down the bin. From the size of the hose, I thought it would have been full in 30 secs but they must have had it on a very light setting.

Not sure where he was from. I think he was with Yarra Trams.
An old W-class tram was sitting there watching proceedings, waiting for the fireys to finish, well before he arrived.

Surely they could have just rolled the hose out of the station to reach that bin, its not much more than 50-60m away .

It isn't worn under the vest, it is reversable.
I have one, but the hiviz is orange. Mine came with a hiviz rain jacket and the vest part zips out.
I never wear mine reversed because the blue part is soft and comfy, but the hiviz part isn't.

That makes sense. Obviously he likes the scratchy bit to rub a little.
