    TIGERZ 11 WINCHES

    Hey Guys,

Looking buy a winch to fit with the newly modified (to suit SVX) ARB bar.

Lots on the market, some cheep some not so cheap.

The Tigerz 11 1200lb, with plasma rope, only 24Kg's, for $799.00, 3 year parts and labour warranty. Sound too good to be true.

Or, Iron Man 1200lb, with cable 42Kg's, for $850.00, 3 year warranty.

But are they any good, not so cheap if the get you stranded a million miles from home.

    Any thoughts or experiences ? ? ?

I do not have one but have read reports and posts by owners. All rate the Tigerz very highly.

I have had the Ironman for 3years now - never missed a beat. If i was buying another i would look seriously at the Tigerz - I have seen them in action and they are also very good. Only ever heard of 2 issues on them - 1 a motor that packed it in - and the supplier offered an exchange new for old, and a controller / solenoid that stuck - on out rather than in which was lucky
I'd still go for the Tigerz and even consider getting Leslies in Heidleburg to strip and seal it.

    Thanks for your input,

3 years out of the Iron Man is great run, no doubt.

I am starting to lean towards the iron man, as the tigerz has little support in NSW.

    Cheers

Its is a decent run - I do however strip it down and cleaned each year - its possibly only used in anger 1/2 dozen times a year. Last time was 4 consecutive winches though (until the rope snaped). I run synthetic and HIGHLY recommend anyone using a winch to swap to it. Yes there are pros and cons but the synthetic is IMHO the best for safety and strength... just looses in abrasion and UV (depending on what us buy) FYI the rope i run is worth more than the winch but hey atleast i know i aint going to seriously hurt someone if it lets go.

Even though Tigerz may not have the support in NSW - chat to the guys as from all accounts they are extremely helpful and try their best (cant say its personal experience - just recommendations of others).

You could even hunt around for a 2nd hand winch - warns come up quite often especially the highmounts.

    Hi Drover,

I did a search about the Tigerz11 and found this thread.

Which way did you go? Ironman or Tigerz11 or ?
