D3 Awsome in the MUD as well!

My confidence in the D3 is now sky high.
Took the kids & a friend fishing today at Point Parker on the Gulf of Carpentaria coast, about 120k North.
While looking about for a good spot we ended up on a track that lead into a tidal mud flat, just off a grassed dune & into the mud.
Before I had worked out what was going on I was in it to the side steps & about to stop so I quickly turned off the DSC & gave her some but all to late!
We had come to a halt & it did not look good. I tried tooing & froing a bit (amazing how easily that can be done with that gear box) & finally got a little forward momentum, gave her about 3/4 throttle & she just slugged on through for about 600 meters. Slow but never looked like stopping.
Got to the other side & the track just stopped, so did a Uie on a bit firmer ground, raised her to off road height & gently charged back in, she just slugged across, slow but in high range on standard 19" Wranglers. Got back on the track & got out to have a look, black, glutenous mud full of weeds & muck to half way up the doors - it was at this stage that I remembered I probably should have used TR & put her in Mud/Ruts!
Just amazing, the bloke with me reckoned most other 4bies would Not have made it, especially after we stopped.
So the kids caught a couple of fish & we headed home with about 1/2 a ton of sticky mud under, on & about the D3, got to a few K's of Doomadgee to find a storm had been through & the road had gone to mush, great fun but ain't D3's hard to get sideways.
Anyway, the thing about my little misjudgement is the D3 got us out & through & I forgot to use it's full box of tricks.
Just AWSOME! Can't wait to put some decent tyres on her.

PS I still have a lot of car cleaning to do. Oh, & I list a rear mudflap.

    Cool!

The mudflaps are hopeless. I remove mine before heading into sand 'cause they act like a plough until they tear off.

You haven't been offroad in a D3 until you've left a mudflap or two behind

If you think I was getting out in that muck to take a photo?
At the time my one & only thought was getting the hell out of it. & I only had the phone camera.
I could take a photo of the driveway where I washed the car, there is plenty of mud there - which my dearly beloved has told me has to be cleaned up tonight.
