    Thumbs up reversing transfer gears

    hi all,

When i was at the resto day Vic, i was talking to one of the guys who has an 86inch with a 2.25 motor and was telling me how he reversed the transfer gears to get more speed out of the vehicle. i was wondering if anyone here has done the modification before and can fill me in on the details of how its done. would be interesting to hear everyones response on this topic. something to talk about i guess

    cheers,

    Chris

The only way I can see it happening would be to use one of the hi-speed transfer boxes, which have a different set of high ratio gears including a replacement intermediate cluster gear and then the intermediate shaft is re-positioned.

Maxi-drive used to sell them and they are made by Aschcroft's in the UK.
