    Coils or air suspension ??

What are the considered opinions as to Coil springs versus Air suspension on a 07 TDV6 (I'm looking at one model of each at a dealer)......I must admit I'm leaning toward the coils for their simplicity and durability in the bush......any comments or advice very welcome.

Air suspension makes the Disco 3. I wouldn't even consider one with coils, but that is just my opinion.

    Oldsalt,
I would agree with Jon, I have driven both vehicles over varying distances on & off road.
The Air suspended vehicles make it so much more comfortable.
The reliability of the Air springs are fantastic. The are protected in their "tin can" so to speak & have proven very effective.
The ability to dial in your terrain & just point makes the Air suspended vehicle are great pleasure to drive.
The simplicity of the coils are that..simple. But the difference in height means that every time you venture off the road, you will scrape something.
Would you intend lifting the vehicle? Thats more cost & if its cost thats is the difference in price, then go the Air.

Good luck, In the end you have to be happy.
Test drive both & see what you feel is better.

    Air goes up.
    Air goes down.
    Air goes up.
    Air goes down.

    Air provides HOURS of entertainment!

And remember: there is no button for coils

the clearnce on the coils make it useless off road without a lift kit and al of the expense and hassles that involves. Would only ever own one with air, if you want a simple coiler go Defender or Tojo, or D2TD5 all of which will do a better job in the bush than a non air D3.

The D3 has to be one of the nicest long distance cruisers ever built (have yet to drive a D4) so enjoy the trip!

    Hi Old Salt,
I realise this is a bit after the fact but you've made a wise decision, air suspension way to go. Better ride, better offroad and just that little bit different. Hope you have enjoyed the trip back I'm sure you will. Now the fun begins, just remember with every accessory you fit you need roughly three more to make it work properly, enjoy.
