    Easiest 12V Supplies

    Can anyone tell me the easiest spot where there is 12V when the ignition is on.
    I also need an easy spot where there is 12v when the lights are on.

    Inside the vehicle, I use one of the empty relay sockets behind the glove box. Just insert a spade connector. A bit of testing will give you both constant 12v or 12v only when accessories is on depending which hole you use.

    Still No 12v Ignition Source

    Have found constant 12V but still cant find ignition 12V. Have done some hunting, tried all empty relay spade connectors and all the other connectors behind glovebox, in fact tried everything under steering wheel and under seat. Tried to get cigarette lighter panel out but to no avail.
    Any other ideas.

    To get the cigaret panel out you need to take out the centre console and the head unit plus AC unit.
    The dash panel comes out with a tug.
    The centre you need to undo the screw under the EPB lever and remove the gear lever by pulling up.
    The rest comes out with a tug.
    When you get to the cig connectors solder some cable in a +V and -V lines and take to to a more easily accessable point (incase you need to add more).
    Lights on just use a relay off the head lights (in engine bay) or off the light switch (give the surround a good tug).

    This might not sound the easiest but I've used any connections I needed from the secondary trailer connection wiring and fuses in the nearside rear cover where the tow hitch unit is. I've run decent cables to the inside of the vehicle and the engine bay where needed from here. So far I've had no trouble at all. I also ran the cables from the second battery along the same route back to the nearside area, there are several rubber grommets specifically for doing this if you remove the inner rear wheel arch above the heat shield for the exhaust. I'm intending to keep my D3 so I took the time out to do this what I regard as peoperly, diagnostics are a lot easier and you know where to go should you have any problems. I loked at the option of spading into the relays and decided to give it a miss. I would have had to dismantle a lot of the dash to try and hide all the wiring and get the wires to go where I wanted. I took the covers of the wiring in the drivers side floor and the B pillar and fed wires in that way, well hidden and where wires are supposed to be.
    This is just my opinion others may vary, hope some of this is of use to you.
