Trouble working my Hema Aggravator

Good old Santa brought me a Hema Navigator but as I'm computer challenged it's been fondly known as the "Hema Aggravator". I've never owned nor used a G.P.S of any type before, just relied on maps and direction sense. Seems I can operate the street navigation section... well enough to get where I'm going although the maps are way out of date.
The 4WD Gps section is where I'm struggling, I've managed to add a waypoint by touching the screen but that doesn't seem that accurate. As a real world example if I was driving down the Birdsville track looking for the junction to the Walkers Crossing track (which I overshot hopelessly on the last trip as the Innamincka sign was missing) is it possible to enter the GPS coordinates printed on the map(26 deg 52' 15" s and 139 deg 32' 08"e) or do I just touch the screen? Oh and thanks to anyone patient enough to read this long winded post.

Which navigator do you have, I have the older 4.5 blue surround one?.
I dont run ozi explorer very often as I do find memory map a very simple program for me (I need simple). The maps are the same topo's, be it ozi or memory map.
Zoom in as close as you can and drop your mark then, if you drop your mark on a un-zoomed 25,000 map it will be off and worse if the map is less detailed again.

If you received the hema for Christmas and the street maps are not current (2009) you are entitled to free upgrades, look up the hema navigator web site.

Thanks Baffle, it's the 4.5"one, thought that's how it worked, still such a lot to learn though, just looking in the memory map bit now. Wish me luck!

I bought the memory topo programs for Queensland and Nsw to run on my computer and the Hema. Share them with my father as you can run 2 computers, sd cards and gps on one license.

If you use a stylus that will make it more accurate than using your finger.

Thanks, used it on a run today, starting to get the hang of it, just prefer to get the most out of it. Pretty good to know where you are and which way you're pointed, still no substitute for maps I've noticed.
