Who has the Key?

OK, here’s a situation with KEYLESS START vehicles and how do you get around it.

My wife wants to pick up some groceries but the D4 needs some fuel.

She unlocks the D4 and drops the key in her hand bag ( 1st mistake ) but wants me to drop her off at the supermarket and so I can then continue on to the serve.

I jump in the driver's seat and drop her off at the supermarket ( 2nd mistake ) and go to servo, about a K or so away.

I arrive at the servo and turn the motor off ( 3rd mistake ).

I fuel the D4 and go to lock it so I can go and pay for the fuel.

NO KEY.

I can’t drive the D4.

I can’t lock it.

And I’m now anything but popular as I have the bowser blocked.

Any suggestions?
