    Brake lights not working

    Hi all

Just noticed that my brake lights are not working on my 1998 130 HCPU.

When I first picked up the car early last year, the previous owner had replaced the original brake lights with crap LED units that just stuck on with velcro.

I ordered original lights from British Off Road and install them. Ever since I installed these I have had trouble. I have been using bulbs with off set pins, but when the lights not working first arose, I fiddled with the bulb and they seemed to work albeit a bit hit and miss.

Now both sides are not working. I tried a test light and nothing - even the trailer plug had nothing, so I checked the fuse and replaced it anyway, but still nothing.

What am I missing? Is there a switch on the brake pedal?

    Cheers

I'm guessing there would be a switch of some sort on the pedal other wise how would your lights no to illuminate when you put the brakes on

    Sorry...poor wording.

I meant to say where is the switch? I had a quick look but looks like I will have to dig further.

Is it common for these switches to let go on a Defender? I have never replaced one before on any car that I have owned.

    Cheers

it may be just the connection to the switch on the pedal tower.

the'yve been known to corrode and let go before today.

Do the lights work as driving lights ie come on when you put your lights on? Are they bright or dim?
