    January 30-31st - Scenic Rim

So the second club trip of the year was to Scenic Rim. We arrived on Satruday morning after meeting up with Rod (BigDog) and John and David Hampson, and a couple of Davids freinds, Mark and Amy at McDonalds in Boonah.

We then headed to the park where Greg (Grover69) and Tina, Dave (Busman) and son Nick, and Chris (Rat) and family. Josh in the RR Ute turned up with a mate shortly after, and then Sherwin.

So first trip out we decided to do a tour with everyone. I took lead, with Dave as TEC, and we followed mainly blue tracks all around the tour drive 1,2 and 3 tracks on the south side of the Park.

    Handbrake Hill:

    Some of the group:

    Mark and Amy:

    Dave and John:

    Sherwin, now twin locked:

    Chris:

    Rod:

    Greg:

    Dave and John:

After driving back to camp for lunch we decided to send a few cars into the creek run behind campsite 6 and 7 (This was partly due to torrential rain over lunch which make some of the tracks very slippery). Just as we were getting back, we met up with Bullets.

    So into the creek,

Greg lead, followed by me, Dave, and for the earlier sections Sherwin and Rod. (I dont have many pics from the creek run hopefully others have.) - It is the creek in the pics a bit further down however)

This was quite hard at times, and I managed to rip off one of my rear wheel arches. No real damage though, mainly due to the care and pushing from Greg, Bullets, Dave and so on in a couple of spots to keep the panels away from the largest boulders! Whished I had the bigger tyres with me!

Thanks to everyone who helped guide, track build etc etc! Still cant believe you managed to move that huge rock Bullets!!

We met up with Grimace and Linda up here too, and Noz (Mark) as they arrived later.

    So to the camp fire:

Rod had his Bourbon which Grimace enjoyed a bit too much, resulting in him collapsing in his tent while it was in the middle of a track, We ended up having to drag it with him in it to the safety of the camping area.

So this morning Greg had a photoshoot with one of the 4wd mags.

Darren (Jaffa) and Mel turned up early, and Kelvin arrived too but is still having some issues with his car.

Here are some pics from Gregs run up the creek in the rain for the video shoot:

This is the rock that ripped off my arch (Although I took a slightly easier line here!!):

    Freindly looking spider:

And a group picture from before we all departed this afternoon:

Thanks to everyone who came and made it another good trip. cant wait to see some more pics and get other peoples reports

    Cheers

    Creepys

If only they made them in a radial and not so bloody wide

I'm keen to get the bullet down that creek on 33's when I have it all sorted out and regoed, I'll give it a go . The best part about Scenic Rim is that it's about 30 mins away for me

    Creepys

I totally agree they are a great tyre OFF ROAD as mentioned by Greg. I had a very scary 4 wheel drift with the trailer on and kids in the car one night going to Levuka. They were off the car as soon as we got back.

I think you will find that it comes more down to size then anything. I am as confident on my 37" creepys as I was on the 255/85 BFG Muds.
Obviously the braking wasnt as good thou... due to size.

As for four wheel drifting, I dont understand how? Unless you had 60psi in them and were doin family sedan speeds around a hairpin???

All my experience is from use, FIRST HAND, and lots of it, I have extensively used 33" BFG Muds, 35" Extremes, and the Creepys (along with a handfull of other tyres) all as daily drivers, the creepys were and still are my favourite. I guarantee a 33" creepy would be just as good in all aspects as a 33" BFG muddy. Too bad you can't get em in that sizing.

I would still take the creepys over any other tyre if I could only have one set of tyres. I even considered some 35" creppys as my road tyres, but I think that's a bit unfair

It's true. You can't convince me otherwise, I use what works for me, my driving style, and my experience.

On the topic, Handling as a whole comes down to lots of things, springs, shocks, bushes (inc type), link geometry, speed, humidity, loads, surface, tyres (size, compund, pressure, pattern) etc etc, all these need to be considered when you drive your vehicles each and every day. Stay safe peeps!
