Gen III's give a few inches of additional travel over standard air bags. Unless you've got shocks that can handle the extra travel, the shocks will max out too soon and give a "shocking" ride
Gen III's also behave better at higher settings than stock air bags, so the theory goes that you can raise the standard height of the car by an inch or so without affecting handling.
On my previous P38A, Gen III's made a significant difference to the handling at factory height settings.
My current P38A has Gen III's with a 2" suspension lift, custom Bilstien shocks and me playing with EAS height settings. It does not handle as nicely as my old one.
Cheers, Paul.
