D3 alert chime on braking /Prodigy Brake Controller

I am getting an alert chime intermittently when braking (usually just on touching brake pedal) without any warning message. I bought run out model TDV6 D3 Oct 09 and had prodigy brake controller installed by auto electrician just after purchase. My 4x4 agent (Opposite Lock ) have checked the Prodigy wiring and say it's fine. I am also getting my auto electrician to recheck this week. My LR agent (Solitaire) are yet to check it out but haven't heard of this problem. I have booked it in for them to look at soon but in the meantime does anyone know what this alert chime could be?

    from memory.....

driver sit in vehicle with ignition on and doors closed.

then insert and release drivers seat belt (I think 9 times) till a gong is heard.

seat belt warning gong is no longer heard.

random warning gongs are a fairly common observation. Ever since I got mine it has done the ocassional one. Many people report it on braking, it has often been linked to the seatbelt occupant sensors on the passenger seat, and having a heavy object on the seat can contribute to it.

A little while ago mine became much more frequent and it appeared to be mostly on braking.

The dealer checked and found it to be a faulty passenger seat occupant sensor and replaced it. since then I have only had a very rare one.

    Thanks very much AnD3rew
That explanation sounds like it could be it- although it has happened even when we have had passenger in that seat (and belt done up). In any case I will ask my dealer to check passenger occupant sensor when it goes in for snorkel fitting early next month.

yep, I have the same problem. TDV6 SE oct 09, as well. but I did notice a very quick, red flash appear on the rev counter about the 1.00 oclock postion. not sure what all this is either. have not brought to the attention of my dealer yet.
    thanks Tom

I also have an 09 D3 that beeps every so often. I spoke to the dealer last week to book mine is in for a service and mentioned the beeping. The dealer said that it is a known issue and the LR techs are working on finding the cause. Apparently nothing to worry about.

I thought it was occuring when you pull your foot off the accelerator quickly.

    Thanks ash333,
I am pleased it's most probably not something to do with my brake controller and hopefully LR techs will identify problem soon. It's not that annoying but makes you wonder if something could be wrong if you know what I mean!
