    Clutch Question

    Hi all i will be changing my landy six to a holden if i can ever find the parts i need what i would like to know is will the landrover clutch pressure plate bolt strait onto the holden fly wheel or will it have to be redrilled its a 1974 109 and i want put a 186 in .

    no, from memory the bolt pattern is different, but then Ive never done the conversion from rover to holden, usually its the other way around.

    You will have to re drill the flywheel to take the L/R clutch /PP.
    Also a special spigot bush is needed. Thats what was done in the later conversions............

    Thinking back i think the kit i still have is a Rover flywheel drilled to fit a holden engine. I think they machined the flywheel to fit the holden ring gear.
    It's buried in the archives somewhere i would have to dig it out to have a look.......

    you can buy one, its not a holden or a rover item from memory and its easier to purchase a lump of sintered brass and have one machined up. its not a super precise bearing so its something your average handy man can DIY on a hobby lathe.

    TRY marks adapters in melbourn OR DELLOW automotive in sydney i know dellows still do the kit not sure about marks though.
    i have the 202 blue & mine is a holden flywheel machined to take the rover clutch...
    i rang marks years ago & they sent me up all this info was about 30 pages all on fitting holden engines in landy's..I'll see if i can find it i know i wouldnt of thrown it out..its a good read..

    Hey shane i found all the info i told you about i will try scaning it & post it up for you sometime today..i also have the dellow catalogue as well but its in book form dont know how to scan that.i have to use the old computer to scan so it mite take me a while...

    I hope these are of some help....if you ring them they could probably send the same to you for the rover six to holden 6..mine was origanly a rover 6..
