'Hump' bonnet chequer plate for Puma

Guys, I am looking at ordering the factory chequer plate option on the new Puma, but alas there is no 'hump' protector for the new shape Puma bonnet.

Any recommendations? Should I abandon the factory chequer plate altogether in the hopes of finding a coherent local option which all goes together?

    Any experience appreciated.

I have purchased and fitted all of the checker plate panels, in black, other than the bonnet, it just looks funny IMO.

Hoping for better a option in the future.

    Why do the bonnet

I've got the rest and it is good. But the bonnet just is rediculous.

If you must though then consider the Mammouth 4x4 complete chequerplate replacement bonnet and go for complete overkill

i think Rovacraft can get it......I wouldn't do the hump its self but would consider around the hump n the bonnet.

however it is a pure look thing as you dont need chequer plate on a steel bonnet..you aint going to bend that in a hurry if you stand on it

Is the bonnet steel Lou Obviously I haven't checked, just assumed it was alloy.

Mammouth 4x4 is available as part of the Terrafirm range if you look at the Terrafirma UK site's catalogue so I suspect that Rovacraft will have access to it if they don't already.

Re: why chequer on bonnet - with the fullsize expedition rack and 4 kids to take camping, I am always needing to access the roof from the front (once the back is loaded it's unsafe or just plain hard to climb over gear to get to the front.

I use my bonnet chequer all the time. I'm not so worried about denting it - but scratching it.

With the TD5 it's easy - a flat (ish) panel means 1 part, but with Puma it needs to be a 2 piece kit as no-one seems to have come up with a moulded 1-piece.

Here's probably the clearest picture I have found yet - at Extreme 4x4's site in the UK. Extreme 4x4 Ltd PUMA CHEQUER PLATE

Rova Craft do indeed stock/order it too - in both black and silver - and I'll order it from them. Am not sure yet whether I will fit both pieces - I mainly need the wings and just the smaller square on the hump, but will test it out when it arrives.

Will only be fitting in June, but will post pictures.

Incidentally, that link above has some interesting stuff. The map pockets are very handy (http://www.extreme4x4ltd.co.uk/acata...POCKETS.html); some interesting cubby boxes (http://www.extreme4x4ltd.co.uk/acata...Y_BOXES.html); and the rear wheel carrier looks very beefy and I like the hi-lift mounting option (Extreme 4x4 Ltd REAR WHEEL CARRIERS).

pretty sure it is derek although I will stand to be corrected....

its also about 3 times heavier than a normal defender bonnet
