ODB...ELM327

Hello gentlemen,
For my freelander TD4 2003, i just bought a ELM327 CODE SCAN TOOL OBDII OBD2 SCANNER ...seems does not work very well. The only software which works is scanmaster which is able to recognize some features of my car with the settings: baud= 38400 bps, protocol iso 9141-2
I suppose i did not buy the right one.
Any advice ?

Does the TD4 talk OBDII?

I know my V6 did (and I used an ELM327) but the V6 was sold in North America, hence it had to talk OBD II fully. The TD4 never was sold there, so may not be compliant.

finally seems that all softs work and does recognize my freelander 2003.
I am using scantools, easyOBD, and scanmaster.
My free is obd compliant
